Be specific. "Football for 5-8 year olds on Saturday mornings" beats "football club". A clear age range, time and place makes everything downstream, pricing, venue, marketing, far easier.
2. Secure a venue
School halls, leisure centres, community centres and parks are all common. Check availability at your target time, confirm what's included (parking, storage, equipment) and get the booking in writing.
3. Get the essentials in place
- Coaching qualifications appropriate to your sport and age group.
- DBS checks for anyone working with children.
- Public liability insurance and, where relevant, governing-body affiliation.
- A safeguarding policy and a named welfare contact.
- First aid cover and a simple incident procedure.
4. Price it sustainably
